Brian Griffin

Influential since the early seventies in shaping British contemporary photography,
Brian's pictures showing businessmen in their environment (originally published in
Management Today), along with images from the Broadgate Project were shown as Work at the
National Portrait Gallery. He had a major retrospective at the Derby Festival in 1992.
Books include Power 1981, Open 1986, Portraits 1987 and Work 1988, which was voted Best
Photographic Book in the World in 1990! He has directed a number of music videos and his
clients have ranged from Kate Bush and Dire Straits to Rolls Royce, IBM, Kodak and
Guiness. Commercials include Murphy's Bitter, Access, Audi, Cellnet, Forte and McEwans
lager. For the World, shot for Forte was the BAFTA 1992 best commercial of the year.In
1994 Brian wrote and directed a short film titled Claustrofomia which won the 'Golden
Monkey' for Best Film at the International Short Film festival, Mons and a Certificate of
Merit at The Chicago International Film Festival
