Workshop History
As Groucho once said - "do
you believe me or your own eyes!" Introducing new ways of working with
photography and reality. Creating personal projects by both conventional and
electronic routes of photomontage.
Mari Mahr’s unusual photographs of places,
friends and family will introduce what will be, for many, a new way of working
with photography. Throughout the workshop participants will work on a personal
project discussed with Mari. To that end participants are asked to think as if
they were movie makers and bring ‘props’ and ‘scripts’. "Work and
talk about anything that concerns you. Start from a blank page and one by one
put together pieces... creating reality - your reality". Mari will be
talking about her own work, showing slides and originals and would like to
discuss, one-to-one, your own work - so bring a portfolio.
"Beauty
is indeed the sphere of unfettered contemplation and reflection; beauty
conducts us into the world of ideas, without however taking us from the
world of sense..."
Friedrich von Schiller
