Eddie started his photographic career as a specialist
b&w printer before working solely on his own projects. He has regularly lectured and
given workshops at various colleges and professional institutions including the Royal
Photographic Society in Bath. He has written extensively for British magazines on creative
b&w work, toning techniques, archival processing and platinum printing. He has
received sponsorship from major photographic companies, including Ilford, Agfa, Kodak and
Fuji. In 1993 he published Creative Elements -Landscape Photography - Darkroom Techniques,
and recently a series of British landscapes Seven Sisters to California. For the last
couple of years Eddie has published Ag+ Photographic (originally the Silverprint Manual) a
b&w darkroom manual. This is now being published and distributed by The British
Journal of Photography - an accolade indeed! He now lives and works in France.
Workshop history:
Eddie's expertise with traditional materials, especially silver prints, will be
fully aired using several slide lectures illustrating aspects of fine printing, and
demonstrating techniques in the darkroom. Eddie is particularly adept at tailoring the
level of teaching to suit each individuals' current abilities and aspirations.
